Wales, located just off the western coast of England, is a nation whose natural beauty and landscape are very infrequently, if ever, mentioned. Wales is one of those nations that, like many in Africa and Asia, seems to be overlooked by the rest of Europe and the western world.
I don’t know why, but I think it has to do with the relative lack of force or impact compared to the rest of Europe, like Germany and England itself. Wales does not have any famous landmarks like Rome or Venice, nor does it have a sizable population or strong economy. Instead, it is merely a small nation that strives to maintain the happiness of its own people while ensuring that those living there are content with their lives.
If you are the kind of person who simply appreciates the outdoors and natural surroundings, Wales is a lovely place. The rolling hills there look beautiful when reflected in a black vanity mirror. While there aren’t any breathtaking waterfalls, miles-long rivers, or enormous mountains. Instead, the majority of the land is flat and grassy, and when people think of Wales, they typically picture sheep and lambs in a field. Though it’s obviously not entirely accurate, that describes the nation fairly well.
The nation itself is not remarkable for the reasons you might think other nations are, like the cities or wonders you can only see there. In fact, you could find the same wonders in a lot of other nations. Even though the difference is negligible, you can tell why when you are in that field.
Half of the country’s particular beauty can be attributed to its overall earthiness, or even muckiness, as some might say. One of the things you notice right away if you’ve ever driven cross-country through Wales is how frequently it can be rainy and foggy. However, this is not always a bad thing. Depending on where you are, the country is very calming and you truly get the feeling that you are breathing in the country air while you are there. Every city in the nation has its own distinctive style, and despite appearing more modern than you might anticipate, they have all maintained a strong connection to their local heritage.
One of the more interesting things about Wales is the weather. It is not a tropical island but rather more like Scotland. It is very wet and windy most times throughout the year, and it can get very cold depending on where you are living. The defining thing about the weather itself however is how much it helps keep the look of the land, while also helping extremely with the decorations that are handmade.
Wales makes your life much easier when it comes to maintaining your fauna and flora if you are an avid gardener or have a green thumb. Many flowers and plants that are grown by home owners within the country see a steady dosage of water and sun.
While I would love to go into more depth about Wales, I believe that in order to truly appreciate its natural beauty, you must immerse yourself there. I urge anyone who hasn’t been to Wales yet to do so and experience it for themselves.
