Solar Powered Charging Stations
In November 2010 Japanese company Kyocera launched its Solar Recharging Station. Designed for six electric bikes, it claimed a maximum daily output of up to 1,140Wh of electricity. With each recharge requiring around 300Wh, the back-up grid connection it features is essential, particularly in cloudy weather and at night. The launch price was the equivalent of around £14,500.
